I highly recommend the Defensive Handgun I class.
After taking NRA Basic and several other PDT classes, I eagerly awaited DHGI. Despite a full day of rain, I was not disappointed. This class addressed many topics that one needs to consider when contemplating concealed carry - holster selection, carry options, draw stroke, and marksmanship.
A good part of the day was spent with dry practice - covert deployment, the four-point draw stroke, and so forth. Then we turned to live fire - it was really efficient, with everyone getting off a large number of rounds in a short amount of time. Several of the drills I learned I will continue to practice long into the future. One in particular showed me that while I was hitting my targets, I had a LOT of room for improvement regarding trigger control. The drills in DHGI are great. One set of drills enables you to become proficient on a minimal number (13-20) live rounds per month. The instructors are fantastic.
This is an excellent class to refine your shooting skills.
