Great Beginner Class

Great Beginner Class

I took this class a little over a year ago. It was my very first firearms training class. I had just applied for my concealed carry pistol license in Georgia. I am so glad I took this course before getting my permit. For seven years I had carried a Glock in the glove compartment of my car. After taking this class, I realized I didn't have the correct mindset nor did I have the proper training to have used the firearm had I been in a hostile, defensive situation. Also, this class goes over the laws of using deadly force and the ramifications of doing so. I highly recommend this course to any beginners/intermediate firearm owners.

My husband and I took this course in November. It has been a tremendously worthwhile experience. I highly recommend that all civilians (non-police-trained) with a CCW take this course. In fact a friend of ours, after hearing our enthusiasm, plans on taking the course the next time it is offered.

The instructor's (David) demeanor throughout the class was serious and focused leaving no one to guess how important this instruction is. After believing I was "a pretty good shot" with a 9mm in a controlled environment (indoor firing range) I quickly learned that instincts must prevail, along with skills, under duress. The only way to hone those instincts is to practice, practice, practice draw, reload and mindset techniques when faced with a hostile situation. The practical knowledge is given - it is up to the participant to make that knowledge work alongside skills, through practice.

Knowing when it is permissable to use deadly force is invaluable. Having a former State Trooper (Stuart) who is currently a practicing attorney convey this information has so much impact. The classroom instruction provides both guidelines for mental attitude as well as instruction as to what the law allows.

The course and all of the instructors (David and his assistants) rate a "10." [8D]

As dansangel posted (my better Half) this was a great class for anyone with a CCW permit. With all the practice that you get at the range it's not the same as real life and the mindset is so diferent.Without taking a handgun course one does not realize the responsibility that you have in carrying a gun. With this course, the way David and the other instructors teach, you find out just what is involved in carrying a gun on a daily basis.

I highly recommend Personal Defence Training with David and his instructors. I also highly recommend practice, practice, practice along with all the reading that you can do both on the law and on the mindset of personal defence....[:D]

Basic Personal Protection Course

David,

Thank you for the excellent intruction and hands-on skills I recieved during your Personal Protection Course. The training brought back many aspects of defensive shooting I had not used in many years and frankly forgot. And Stuarts instruction on the use of deadly force and Georgia Law was invaluable. I highly recommend this course to anyone who carries or is considering carrying a concealed weapon. This course makes you think. And thinking, planning and practicing what is taught in this couse will make you a survivor.

I look forward to more courses in the future,
