Law Enforcement/Military Handgun
This program was designed to
teach the officer to deploy their handgun safely and effectively as is
required in the high speed confrontations an officer may face. This
course will upgrade your ability to shoot faster and more accurately,
to score higher on qualifications, and most importantly, to increase
your ability to win a deadly force encounter.
You will review gun safety and administrative gun handling and learn presentations with rapid engagement of single & multiple threats (static, moving & 3D) both from retention and the holster (both duty and concealment). Other subjects covered are malfunction clearing, speed reloading, tactical movement in all directions, cornering & clearing techniques, shooting from various positions, cover & concealment and low light techniques. Lectures will include developing a combat mindset, use of force continuum and the OODA loop.
This 20 hour course emphasizes realistic, practical drills the attendee will be able to incorporate into their normal practice routine so that skills can be continued to be improved.
Equipment necessary:
Duty handgun with duty holster and 800 rounds, off duty handgun with holster and 200 rounds, minimum of 3 magazine or speed loaders, hearing and eye protection, concealment garment.
