Unarmed Self-Defense
This course is based on the unarmed combatives methods taught to U.S.
Special Forces and the techniques were selected to provide a simple
yet effective method of learning unarmed self-defense. The goal of
this course is to give you the ability to stun and disable an attacker of greater
size and strength than yourself and escape to safety. This course is
an excellent choice for those who are unwilling or unable to carry a firearm as
well as those who wish to have a less lethal alternative to firearms.
You will learn incident avoidance and prevention, mindset, striking principles and target selection, defense against punches, kicks, holds, grabs, bear hug and chokes. Also included are ground-fighting and defense against multiple attackers. You will progress from performing techniques "in the air" or against striking bags to doing them at full force against a padded attacker. By experiencing a "realistic assault", you will be better prepared to effectively handle a real confrontation because you'll know what to expect and have confidence in your ability to deal with it.
